First ever Junior GBR Team head to Holland!

20/12/19:  In December 2019 we took the first ever junior GB team to Holland, to play in the U17 European Championships! The players were selected from a few different schools, plus our very own Westway Fives pair, Jamie and Edward. The competiton was held over the weekend of 21/22 December and there were a total of 500 games being played!Team GB consisted of 8 players 4 boys and 4 girls with ages in U13's U15's and U17's. It was a  great weekend of one wall, everybody played fantastically and did themselves proud. It was a great first experience for some of the players to play sports internationally as well as meeting players from all over Europe! For UK Wallball this was the first time they had entered into this competition and they are certainly hoping it will not be the last! Many thanks to Mr Cruz and Luke Thomson for being part of the trip, Score Wallball academy for hosting such a great tournament and to the US Handball association for sponsorship of the kits, and Olympus for the flights!

Success at the Belgium Open for Team GB

Last weekend (November 2-3rd) a team of 8 Brits headed over to Belgium to play in the 9th Belgium Open! On the Friday night it was thw Worl Cup, and although they played their hearts out, they ended up Runners up after losing a close final! Saturday hosts the singles, and we had wins from Team GB captain Luke 'Tekkers' Thompson, meaning he now takes European number 1 in the new rankings! We had all players reaching at least the Quarter Finals, and our very own Shennan winning the Women's B Grade! So Team GB taking 2 Golds in the singles!

Sunday was time to partner up and play doubles. The standard this year was unreal, but Tekkers and Dan grant got all the way to the finals! Winning the first set with ease, lost a little composure for the second meaning it went to a tie breaker set. 1 game to 11. It wasn't to be on this occasion and they had to settle for Silver! That also means Luke takes the top spot for doubles players as well! A huge congratulations to all involved, and a big thanks to KillShot Club for hosting yet another amazing competition. Next up... The Dutch Open!
